Here’s what to do with those old doors.

The feeling of walking through one of these turned out much cooler than we thought (and we did think it would be cool…)  An attractive gateway to a patio or walk, this design can also be customized to apply to larger outdoor living spaces.  Simply make a larger ceiling piece, either solid or pergola-type, and anchor the doors to the ground via earth anchors or posts.

Old doors can be found at your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore for $5 and up, so buying or building one of these (contact us for pricing if you’d rather not build your own) not only saves you money but reuses waste material and supports a good cause.

Where’s the rainwater? Ok, we are still landscape designers after all…

And our 10′ x 20′ display this year (2011) was an example of what creative design can make with scrap lumber, old doors, post consumer recycled plasic and some DIY RainBench kits.

(it was flanked on both sides with a ‘Door County’ RainBench and a self watering garden)

Here’s the 3D design of the booth  (yep, we do that, too)

I couldn’t back up far enough and my iPhone doesn’t have wide angle…
