In order to handle high water tables, we used Aquascape’s RainXchange system to build a shallow, wider 1,000 gallon underground cistern for the new Children’s Barn at Henry Vilas Zoo this past November.
There is an inspection riser near the building, as well as a 4″ inlet pipe from the 4″x5″ commercial downspout (we used a customized Saving Rain diverter to be able to winterize easily). A pump is mounted inside the building to reduce maintenance.
More details for the diverter that was used here and a schematic of the whole system coming soon– you can find out more info on Aquascape’s system by clicking either photo.
